September 15

Saskatoon fall
Hello Grammie and Grampa,

I'm so glad to come down to my computer and see a little sign saying "1 Comments".  We read your notes aloud to make sure everyone gets to know what you are doing.  Mommy has been making soup and scones thanks to the two of you.  She loves that kind of meal.  Daddy and I aren't complaining about it, warm biscuits- yum.

Today we went out of the city to look for wood, and this is a photo of me in the long grass. It isn't as nice on the hands as city grass.  Mathey sure loves it better though, he ran around like crazy.  Daddy is on call tonight, and mommy and I are going to worship practice.  Mommy hopes daddy can come visit me there if he isn't busy, we'll see.

I'm very glad you will both come for supper on Sunday.  Of course if you feel tired then, you can bow out, just so you know there is little pressure.  We look forward to seeing you both, I hope Grampa doesn't wear out with all the ortho information he's taking in.  I won't ask how much coffee he's drinking to keep alert.

Those shops sound very nice, we would take them in with you if we were there.  I hope the sun pops out a bit more for you both before you travel home to me.  I can't wait to show you how much I'm talking.

Love
Benjamin

September 14

Hello Grammie and Grampa,

Mommy says to tell you she cheated a bit and this photo is from a month ago, when the weather was warm enough for shorts.  Today when I was strapped into daddy's backpack, I had mits on and a fleece sweater, but not to alarm you, no snow, mommy was just being over protective.

I am SO glad to be home.  I show it by crawling as fast as I can and scream the whole way, I show it by chasing Mathey all over the house, I show it by squirming like crazy when mommy changes my diaper.  Daddy is having a relaxed week, he has to round in the evening but his days he is somewhat at home.  It makes for a nice lead in to studying, which he is mixing up with nap time.  Silly daddy gets confused.

Grammie, if you and Grampa are wanting to come over Sunday night for supper at 5:00pm, I would like that a lot.  If you are both exhausted and need to stay home, then we'll have you over later sometime, but if you feel up to it Sunday, come over.  Daddy has a good menu planned.    And mommy says as soon as you're up for a Monday evening visit with me to let her know, she very very much appreciates the offer.

I'm off for yogurt and raspberries.
I love you both

September 13

Hello Grammie & Grampa!

We LOVE getting your posts, and hearing what you are doing every day, it's definitely a highlight of our day.  The above is a photo of daddy and I at the sandhills, we had such a fun time.  Mommy had to put me in the car seat today for rehearsal at the church and I was not impressed.  "Too soon, mommy" I said.  (she felt bad but daddy came to the church and played with me while mommy was rehearsing so it ended on a very good note).  She rehearses every Monday night now, so I get to go and remind her of my presence, something I do very well.

Daddy says his weekend went very well and he's glad the guys didn't want to do things that when in Vegas, stayed in Vegas.  They were just silly boys, going golfing, go karting, eating lots of hamburgers and hanging out.  He was relieved to not have to say no over and over to them.  They all just wanted to be together and catch up.  He had a very good time, and now has another challenge with them about keeping in shape.  I'll help him with it just as soon as I decide to walk.  I'm getting pretty close, I balance on my own now and push chairs around.  Mommy looked into baby gates for you a bit in Alberta, she's a wealth of knowledge so she says.  All I know is when I look at the top of the stairs down to where she is, I push my face through the bars to get a kiss.  It's a lovely game.

Enough for today, bed time.

XOXOXOX
Benjamin

september 12- YAY Grampa, a 78!

congratulations grampa!  what a good golf game!  And I hope your walking stick is taking care of you.
Last weekend was wonderful and I was on my best behavior the whole time, mommy was so impressed.  I was in a car seat so much though that I don't ever want to see one again.  So mommy has it in mind to stick around home for the next few days.

Grammie did we ever see horses.  Mules, ponies, standardbreds, geldings, stallions, western riders, english riding, jumping and jumping and jumping, riding, carting, standing, running, prancing, and sleeping.  We saw it all.  Mommy says she would like to go every year when we come back from Toronto, make a tradition of it, she really loved it, so you and grampa will have to come with us.  Be sure to practice up an accent while in Scotland because in some ways it's quite hoity-toity.  In many others it's not.  The horses are all friendly.

I am going to bed directly.  A good boy who was very very good all weekend makes for a tired tired boy at the end of it.

I love you both so very much.
Come home to my smiles.

Your Benjamin

September 8

Hello Grammie and Grampa,

Today I ate all my food, and it was delicious!  Mommy has been inspired with what you two are getting to munch on so supper consisted of soup and scones.  I am now practicing how to use a fork.  Sometimes the best part about the fork is watching it fall to the floor....mommy doesn't quite agree.  Daddy was in the OR today and worked on 3 hips and 1 knee.  I've never met someone with 3 hips before :)

Mathey is all better, I'm sorry that we left you hanging in anticipation.  He cleared up the day after we threatened taking him to the vet, which made us very very happy.  He's not too happy that mommy has taken to sweeping the floor after every meal so he gets no treats.  Poor deprived Mathey.

Mommy and I are going west to see Auntie Samantha tomorrow and then we are going to Spruce Meadows to see the horses jump.  We are coming back before daddy gets back from Las Vegas, in case you don't hear from us until Sunday.  What day are you in Glasgow?  Does that mean you won't get to blog with me until you come back?

I hope your next few days are good.  I found out you are getting in past my bedtime, so I will have to get mommy and daddy to find you the next day.

I love you both

September 7

I do NOT want to eat that.
Hello Grammie and Grampa,

You have rain gear for golfing?!?  I won't say another word even though mommy and daddy are snickering in the background.  Grampa, the robins are back by the boatloads, could they be getting ready to migrate south?  We haven't noticed large groups of them, but they are coupled everywhere.
Today has been a nice day, I didn't sleep as long as mommy had hoped (silly mommy) and daddy was back to work and is on call tonight. He is home studying right now, I spent about 10 minutes with him before bedtime, mommy tries hard not to think of the days ahead.   Good thing you are both around and both have been through the tough years, daddy and mommy know they are very blessed to have you both.
We took Mathey for a muddy walk, and walked through the park you had your wedding pictures taken at, they took down the no dog sign so we were able to see the flowers, benches and fountain.
The weather is supposed to clear up in a few days, we'll try and share whatever sunshine we get.

Love you both, when do you come home?

Your Benjamin

September 4, 5 & 6 oops

Dearest Grammie and Gramps ;)

Daddy had a good chuckle at the 'gramps' line.  Please know we are sorry to have missed hearing from you and updating for the past few days.  We will choose to blame it entirely on our company seeing as they are related to us and have to do what we say - waaaa haa haa.

It's been a very good weekend.  Saturday started with daddy taking Uncle Christopher, Uncle Jonathan, mommy and I on a long run to your house for his final weigh in for his Vegas competition with 'the boys' (Jimmy, Mike, Lanny, Kevin) so in preparation he ran farther then he ever has, didn't drink anything before hand or during, and sucked it all in, stood on one foot, and held his breath while dancing on your weigh scale.  He thinks he may have come in second, and when teased relentlessly by my uncles who were there biking beside him, he simply replied "it's what the other guys are probably doing too".  I wonder why he didn't spend an hour in the steam room first. hee hee.

Sunday we went to church and it was cloudy all day.  Our pastor is fully in his stride with a new sermon series called "bring it on".  This was about having deeper relationships, and the fact that we sometimes treat the foyer of church like facebook, and have 'friends' a mile wide and an inch deep.  Mommy sang in worship, and enjoyed herself, and I called out to her a few times while she was up there... I like to show my support in various ways.
We also found my auntie Sylvia at the airport where she came from a visit in Toronto, more the merrier daddy says.  He spent a lot of time with my uncles putting an amp and heater in the landcruiser.

Today we woke up to rain which according to the news has put farmers, already 2 weeks behind on harvest, back even further.  Daddy's stereo from the landcruiser can now be heard in the house, and I am tall enough to see on the table, and grab even more.  Mommy has sworn off table clothes for the time being.

See how much I miss you, this has been a lot of typing (I'm very talented for my age)

We are off to our neighbors for supper now.
Love you both so very much
Benjamin
